California Drivers Education Course

 

Age 15½  and older

Drivers Education is the first step to getting your driver's license.

If you have already completed Drivers Ed, sign up for behind the wheel lessons.

  • Our interactive drivers education class will teach you everything you need to know so you will pass the DMV written test.
  • You can take the class before you turn 15½ but you must be 15½ to get your permit.
  • Drivers education classroom curriculum developed and taught by retired CHP Captain William Perlstein.
  • This is a DMV approved 4-day intensive class--so you get your driving permit fast.
  • Cost is $300 with payment due before class begins.
  • Includes Impact Teen Driver and CHP Start Smart programs. Some insurance companies may reduce premiums for teens who complete the course.
  • DMV written test failure rate is 45%; however, 100% of our students have passed, almost all on their very first try!

Class Dates

  • December 2019 Class: Dec. 30, 31, Jan. 1 & 2, Monday through Thursday, 11 AM to 5 PM, at the Carmel Youth Center.
  • February 2020 Class: February 8, 9, 15 & 16, Saturdays and Sundays, 11 AM to 5 PM, at Santa Catalina School, Monterey.
  • March 2020 Class: March 14, 15, 21 & 22, Saturdays and Sundays, 11 AM to 5 PM, at Stevenson School, Pebble Beach.
  • April 2020 Class: April 25, 26, May 2 & 3, Saturdays and Sundays, 11 AM to 5 PM, at the Carmel Youth Center.
  • June 2020 Class: June 8, 9, 10 & 11, Monday through Thursday, 11 AM to 5 PM, at Stevenson Lower School, Carmel.
